Sohyun’s Goals
1. Overcome Laziness
I can sometimes be prone to letting inertia take over, and I don’t want that to happen during this challenge! It's a good trait in some ways to be flexible and not easily stressed, but if it drags you down from becoming your best self, then it’s not helpful.
To help with this, I’ve decided to bring more structured discipline into my life. I told Melkije we should do yoga every day at 8 AM except on Sundays and Moon Days (Full Moon & New Moon). That will help me avoid sleeping in too late or going to bed too late.
Without a 9–6 job, self-discipline can be a challenge, but having some structure allows you to be free in other ways.
How will I do that?
Add discipline to my life by waking up at 7:30 AM and doing yoga at 8:00 AM.
End Goal Intention:
I switch between tasks with intention and light-hearted energy, without anything dragging me down.
2. Overcome Distraction
In this age of overflowing information and media, it’s easy to get distracted. One of my strengths is the ability to think flexibly and creatively about many things at once. But if I let my mind get mindlessly distracted, that’s not helpful.
I want to practice being mindful of what I’m thinking and consuming, and learn to notice whether it’s a distraction or a form of genius multitasking. (ㅋㅋ) I will direct my focus so that I’m not just reacting to thoughts but actively creating and being productive.
How will I do that?
Be mindful every moment of what I’m consuming and turn it into productive energy.
When I’m focused on something, don’t interrupt myself by checking messages or looking things up just because it pops into my head. Stay present with the task.
End Goal Intention:
My mind will be sharp and conscious, able to distinguish the “weeds” in my thoughts and choose where to place my awareness intentionally
4. Share Our Stories Steadily and Consistently
I believe stories have power—they can actually change people’s lives. I want to become better at steadily sharing our journey and how we continue to evolve, especially with our community.
In the past, I’ve struggled with consistency due to busyness or distractions. But I now realize that sharing our lives should be a priority—not something I put off.
How will I do that?
Use a timer and dedicate 1 hour each day to write and share in the community as a top work priority.
Don’t be discouraged by discomforts or technical hiccups—just keep sharing the journey.
Understand that even small updates and progress can be inspiring and transformative to others.
End Goal Intention:
Sharing feels easy, fun, and joyful! (Like it already does when I’m not blocked by laziness or distractions.)
4. Relationship with Melkije
Relationships are important, and within one relationship, you can learn things that could even help solve the world’s biggest problems. When two people come together, it’s like two worlds colliding—with different needs, personalities, communication styles, and more. But with love and understanding, anything can be overcome.
Through my relationship with Melkije, I’ve already learned so much. Even when we love each other deeply, misunderstandings and conflicts still arise—but they can become opportunities for growth.
How will I do that?
Always assume the best in each other and remember that we love each other.
When a misunderstanding arises, take a breath and share the concern with loving, gentle words—not sharp or interrogative ones.
End Goal Intention:
Our love helps us grow, heals us, and radiates healing into the world around us.
5. Best Condition of My Body
I’m ready for my body to reach the best condition it’s ever been in! I want my body to feel strong and unrestrained, never limiting what my mind envisions. Who knows—maybe if I truly believe I can fly, I actually can.
How will I do that?
Practice yoga at 8 AM daily, eat healthy, and stay aligned with a healthy mind and intention.
End Goal Intention:
My body will no longer limit what my mind can imagine and believe.
